Motivational Monday is here! Its easy to feel in a rut when creating an aquascape. Especially when something you've been working towards for a long period of time just doesn't fall through.
Personal story time! I had a large 75 gallon aquarium set up once to be elaborately designed to have a canyon style set up. I spent hours reading articles and watching youtube videos on 3D backgrounds. I politely (and awkwardly) traveled to multiple furniture stores asking to raid their dumpsters for Styrofoam until I had enough. Then I created a unholy Styrofoam mess through carving. Spent weeks building up a concrete/cement layer onto the finished piece. Only to place it in the tank, fill it up, and have it float. I didn't silicone it to the bottom of the tank. Chips of concrete broke off of the structure and revealed the Styrofoam underneath.
Of course there were so many things I should've have done better with this project. I'm sure with more patience and better preparation, a better result was certainly attainable. Regardless my motivation was shattered and I felt cheated and embarrassed.
