2. Dwarf Hair Grass
A popular carpeting plant due to its similarity to natures own grassy look. Dwarf hair grass is a lush addition to any aquarium. 3. Alternanthera Reineckii
Alternanthera Reineckii is a beautiful lush red plant. This plant is a wonderful contrast to most of the hobby's green additions. Its a favorite for high tech hobbiests. Because of its stem nature, once the plant grows too tall, simply cut it off and replant the tops! Add some lush red to your tank here.

4. Pearl Weed
Pearl Weed is one of the easiest carpeting plants to grow. This plant is very undemanding and requires very little fertilizers. The stronger the light the more horizontally it will grow. 5. Java Moss
Java moss is a great addition to any tank. Similar to pearl weed, this plant does not require a lot to grow. Its a favorite for shrimps to hide and breed in and its also a popular medium for making aquatic trees. Once overgrown its propigation is as simple as trimming and replanting the newly gathered clump. Becareful though as any aquatic moss strands can have a tendency to float everywhere! 6. Staurogyne Repens (S. Repens)
S. Repens are known for their bushy appearance. Their very easy to grow in comparison some other stem plants. Similar to the other ones mentioned above, S. Repens has the ability to carpet if chopped and replanted. This method encourages horizontal growth.
